Community Comes Together for International Women’s Day Celebration On March 8, 2025, Ms. Babita from the Migrant Assistance and Information Network (MAIN), Caring Through Sharing’s partner working for migrant welfare, organized an International Women’s Day program in Shastri Park Yamuna Khadar Kisan Colony, bringing together women from the community. The event was graced by chief guests Meeta Bhandari, Manju Goyal, and Kamlesh Saxena, who were invited to address the gathering. The MAIN team shared valuable information about women’s rights and entitlements. As a token of appreciation, MAIN honored them with sarees, stoles, and floral garlands. The women felt joyful and proud to be recognized by the organization’s members and expressed their heartfelt gratitude. Website Content Creation & Management Workshop

Website Content Creation & Management Workshop A three-day workshop on Website Content Creation and Management for NGOs was successfully held from February 17–19, 2025, at Sitagarha, Hazaribagh. Organized by JRDS, New Delhi, and PDOs of the Central Zone, and hosted by Hazaribagh Province, the workshop aimed to equip NGOs with essential digital skills to create and manage their websites. With 23 participants from various social sectors, the event provided hands-on training in website development, SEO, content structuring, multimedia integration, and website maintenance. The sessions were led by experts Mr. Shubham Yadav, Mr. Antony Glenn Gomez, and Mr. Ferdinant Josepaul, who guided participants through the process of designing, optimizing, and managing their NGO websites effectively. A significant highlight of the workshop was that even participants with no prior experience in website creation were able to develop and present their websites by the third day. They gained confidence in handling domains, servers, CMS platforms, and content management, addressing key challenges in website maintenance. The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony by Fr. Anil, where participants shared positive feedback, emphasizing the practical, interactive, and empowering nature of the training. Special appreciation goes to Fr. Prakash Baskey, S.J., and the Hazaribagh Province for organizing the workshop and ensuring its success. This initiative marks a crucial step in helping NGOs establish a strong digital presence to enhance their outreach and impact.

Social Media Production & Maintenance Workshop We conducted an interactive and hands-on Social Media Production & Maintenance Workshop at Atmadarshan, Patna, from February 13-15, 2025. Hosted by Fr. Joseph Sebastian, SJ Director-Development Office (PJS), the workshop brought together participants from India and Nepal to explore key aspects of social media, including Social Media Marketing (SMM), Social Media Optimization (SMO), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), AI-driven strategies, platform-specific best practices, and the use of Canva and AI tools for impactful design. Fr. Joseph Sebastian, SJ Director-Development Office (PJS) Over three immersive days, participants engaged in practical sessions on Meta Ads, social media ad design using Canva, audience persona development, strategic content planning, WhatsApp Business setup, and YouTube strategies for impact and monetization. Engaging activities were also incorporated to enhance learning and interaction. This dynamic workshop was organized by the Jesuit Research and Development Society (JRDS-DP) in collaboration with PDOs of the North Zone. How Early Intervention Transformed Kabir’s Life in Karnataka Imagine a world wrapped in silence. A world where connection feels impossible, where the simplest expressions of joy or need are locked inside. Until recently, that was Kabir’s world. This 9-year-old boy couldn’t hear, speak, or socialize. As an autistic child from the marginalized Vaddar tribal community in Karnataka, his future looked uncertain. But thanks to the support of people like you, Kabir’s life has changed. Through our local partners, the Karnataka Jesuit Province and Loyola Vikas Kendra, he’s now learning to speak and attending school for the first time on a scholarship! Kabir (right) with his mother and brother. At his special-needs school in Mundgod, Kabir is receiving the guided support he needs to thrive. Tutors are helping him to socialise, develop his basic literacy, and improve his communication and living skills. Although still a little shy, he is an eager learner and, as he continues at the school until Year 10, he will build the skills needed to become independent and self-reliant. Kabir’s journey shows us why we do this work. It’s proof of the life-changing impact of early intervention and the power of inclusion. Through our training programs and field demonstrations, we equip farmers with the tools and knowledge to adopt methods that preserve essential natural resources like land, water, and forests—resources vital to the survival of Adivasi communities. Not only do we provide training, but we also offer subsidies for compost pits, slurry containers, insect spray drums, and farming implements, helping smallholder farmers ease their transition to sustainable practices. We also collaborate with other NGOs, align our efforts with government programs, and focus on research-driven agricultural innovations to benefit the community. While the journey toward sustainable agriculture is full of challenges—such as limited resources, labor-intensive farming, and competition from industrial wages—JSM is steadfast in its mission. In collaboration with the PDOs of the Delhi Zone, this impactful three-day workshop equipped participants from various congregations with essential tools for effective project planning. UNITED FOR GOOD: JRDS Hosts Its 1st CSR Conclave On December 20th, the Jesuit Research and Development Society (JRDS-DP) proudly hosted its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conclave, “UNITED FOR GOOD”, at the Indian Social Institute, New Delhi. The event was a dynamic platform that brought together corporate leaders, CSR professionals, and community partners to spark conversations around sustainable development, social impact, and corporate responsibility. With 20 esteemed CSR leaders in attendance, the conclave featured engaging panel discussions across four critical themes: Ecology, Environment & Sustainability; Education & Skill Development; Health & Rare Diseases; and Technology & Cyber Security. The day began with an inspiring welcome address by Dr. Sebasti L. Raj, Director of the Conference Development Office, followed by the keynote speech from Dr. Santhosh Mathew, Country Lead, Public Policy & Finance at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, who graced the event as Chief Guest. Udayani’s Impact Through Self-Help Groups and Community Development Udayani Social Action Forum, a dedicated partner of Caring Through Sharing (CTS), is transforming lives in Kolkata, West Bengal, by empowering women from Dalit and Adivasi communities. At the core of Udayani’s work is the establishment of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and federations, which serve as the foundation for community-driven development. Through these grassroots organizations, Udayani mobilizes women to drive sustainable and impactful change. Our partner conducts capacity building workshops for these communities. Recently participants were introduced to six essential SHG records: 1. Resolution Copy, 2. Saving Copy, 3. Attendance Copy, 4. Loan Copy, 5. Personal Saving Copy, and 6. Debit/Credit Copy. SHG leaders were trained on how to accurately maintain these records to ensure transparency and financial discipline within their groups. Udayani operates across five blocks—Bishnupur I, Jamlpur, Kalna I, Kalna II, and Pandua—spanning three districts: Burdwan, South 24 Parganas, and Hooghly. Currently, over 400 SHGs, 25 federations, and five active movements are working together to empower women, foster economic independence, and create lasting social change in these regions. Baseline Survey and Needs Assessment Workshop A three-day workshop on baseline and needs assessment was successfully conducted at Manresa House, Ranchi, from October 24 to 26, 2024, by JRDS and the PDOs of Central Zones. The workshop aimed to equip 49 participants from various congregations with foundational knowledge and practical skills in baseline studies and needs assessment, essential for impactful project planning. The workshop began with a prayer led by Sr. Ranjita Kindo, followed by a welcome address from Fr. Paul Fernandes SJ, who highlighted the importance of baseline assessments in project planning. Fr. Alex Toppo SJ provided a historical overview of Manresa House, and Fr. George Kerketta SJ shared his experiences in project proposal writing, emphasizing the significance of baseline assessment techniques. Our trainers, Ms. Jennifer Selvaraj, National Consultant for MHM at UNICEF India, and Mr. Charles Dinakaran, Manager at JRDS, facilitated the workshops, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the participants. The interactive sessions, combined with practical exercises, provided a hands-on learning experience that fostered skill development and confidence. Key topics covered included the fundamentals of Corporate Social Responsibility and its role in community welfare, along with baseline surveys, sampling and data collection, data management, analysis, interpretation, and reporting. Participants also engaged in concept note development through group work sessions. The workshop received high praise from attendees, who appreciated the depth and practicality of the training. Empowering Nagubai: From Mud Hut to New Beginnings In Karnataka, India, life hasn’t been easy for communities and people like Nagubai. For 30 years, Nagubai has lived in a small shelter in her village. She and her husband both worked as day labourers to provide day to day essentials for their family of six until an injury forced Nagubai out of work. Their home – a badly damaged mud hut – became unlivable when they could no longer afford the constant repairs it required. With support from the Karnataka Jesuit Province, ‘The Sustainable Development of Indigenous Tribal Populations Program’ empowers Indigenous people like Nagubai, through livelihood training, education on land rights and access to housing. Empowering Adivasi Women: A Success Story Caring Through Sharing is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of 28 Adivasi women from Shirpur, Maharashtra. Under the guidance of our partner, the Bombay Jesuits, these women successfully completed a tailoring course, opening doors to new opportunities and empowering them for a brighter future. To commemorate their accomplishment, the women were invited to visit the Xavier Institute of Engineering (XIE) campus in Mahim. Warmly welcomed by Fr. John Rose, Director at XIE, and his staff, they received their completion certificates and had the opportunity to explore the campus. This experience serves as a powerful testament to the transformative impact of education and skill development on women’s lives. By acquiring tailoring skills, these Adivasi women have gained valuable tools to improve their livelihoods and contribute to their communities. Transforming Lives: CTS’s Impact on Rural Schools Caring Through Sharing (CTS) through a successful partnership with the Jesuits Madhya Pradesh Province, have equipped seven rural schools with computers, impacting the lives of thousands of underprivileged students and staff. More than just computers, we’re building a brighter future in these schools: Loyola School, Gorrapara Pathalgaon St. John Berchmans’ School, Dhanwarkala Nirmala Primary School, Jhingo Loyola School, Bhaiswar St. Xavier’s School, Barmakela St. Xavier’s School, Ambikapur St. Xavier’s School, Baikunthpur The introduction of computer facilities in our rural schools has empowered young minds to navigate the digital landscape, opening doors to new opportunities. Teachers are also benefiting from the ability to perform their work more efficiently in a digital environment, making their classes more engaging and interactive. But our work doesn’t stop there. We’ve also addressed a critical health concern by constructing a borewell at Loyola School, Gorrapara Pathalgaon. This vital source of safe drinking water benefits students and staff, reducing absenteeism due to waterborne illnesses and promoting better health. Meet Rani (name changed), a shining example of our impact. Before the computers arrived at St. Xavier’s School, Rani’s dream of a career in the IT sector seemed distant. Empowering Change: JRDS Workshops Enhance Project Management Skills in Pune and Chennai The Jesuit Research and Development Society (JRDS-DP) recently conducted two transformative workshops in Pune and Chennai, equipping its partners and stakeholders with critical skills needed to drive sustainable development. The workshops focused on project management skills, providing participants with a comprehensive toolkit to excel in their roles. Key areas covered during the workshops included Crafting Compelling Proposals, where participants learned to articulate project goals, strategies, and expected outcomes with clarity and persuasiveness; Developing Robust Budgets and Implementing Effective Projects, where participants gained insights into best practices for project execution, minimizing risks, and maximizing impact; and Communicating Results with Impact, teaching effective report writing techniques to share project achievements and lessons learned effectively. Our trainers, Ms. Shruti Aggarwal, Director, Neev-Schooling Before School, and Ms. Jennifer Selvaraj, National Consultant for MHM, UNICEF India, facilitated the workshops, bringing their wealth of experience and knowledge to the participants. The interactive sessions, combined with practical exercises, provided a hands-on learning experience that fostered skill development and confidence. Loyola Vocational Institute Honors Teachers with an Inspiring Celebration New Delhi, India – Loyola Vocational Institute, an educational partner of Caring Through Sharing (CTS), hosted a vibrant Teachers’ Day celebration on September 5, 2024, showcasing the talents of students through dance, plays, and speeches. The program began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, warmly welcoming esteemed guests. Students from the Beauty Culture, Shorthand & Typing, and NIOS departments performed graceful dances and delivered thought-provoking speeches. Fashion Designing students captivated the audience with a well-executed play, while other students showcased their dance skills. The Chief Guest, Fr. Varkey, delivered an inspiring message, followed by the distribution of gifts to the staff members. Mr. Sabyasachi Dutta, Caring Through Sharing’s CSR advisor, and Ferdinant Josepaul, the communications officer, were present. Mr. Dutta’s inspiring speech motivated students to strive for excellence. The celebration was a fitting tribute to the teachers, recognizing their dedication and contribution to education.

Caring Through Sharing (CTS) Enhances Partner Capacity with Documentation Workshop Building upon the success of its March 2024 CSR workshop, Caring Through Sharing (CTS) organized a two-day online workshop on August 2nd and 5th, 2024, to equip partners with essential documentation skills. The “Mastering the Art of Documentation” workshop attracted 192 participants from various social centers. National Consultant with UNICEF India, Ms. Jennifer Selvaraj, led the training, sharing insights on the importance of documentation, effective practices, and crafting compelling case stories. Participants gained practical knowledge on documentation fundamentals, challenges, and strategies. Interactive sessions and hands-on assignments helped them identify and document their own success stories. CTS is committed to fostering a strong documentation culture within the development sector and plans to conduct more workshops in the future. ECD Kits Bring Hope to Young Children New Delhi, India – On July 18th, 2024, Caring Through Sharing (CTS) and Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) joined hands to brighten the lives of young children. A distribution ceremony was held at the Chin Refugee Women Committee (CRWC) Day Care Center in Hastsal, New Delhi, where 80 Early Childhood Development (ECD) kits were handed out. These specially designed kits, filled with essential learning materials, are more than just resources– they are stepping stones to a brighter future. Each kit, packed with items such as alphabet blocks, pre-writing boards, and storytelling cards, aims to stimulate young minds and prepare children aged 2 to 5 for formal schooling. The event was a celebration of hope and motivation, bringing the community together to support the young children. Heartfelt speeches expressed gratitude for the initiative and its impact on the community. Empowering Migrant Advocacy in Ranchi: MAIN Conducts Impactful Training The Migrant Assistance & Information Network (MAIN) recently conducted an intensive three-day training program in Ranchi, Jharkhand, from 9th to 11th March. Titled “Involving in Advocacy-Related Activities,” the program aimed to empower both staff and migrants to advocate for their rights. The program attracted a diverse group of 30 participants, including MAIN Hub Directors, Migrant Link Workers, and four beneficiaries of MAIN’s distress intervention programs. The inclusion of beneficiaries marked a significant highlight. These beneficiaries directly shared their experiences of receiving support from Caring Through Sharing’s partner, MAIN, and presented their cases to Jharkhand Labour Department officials. This powerful act of advocacy aimed to secure rightful financial assistance for families of migrant workers from Jharkhand who tragically passed away in other states.
