About Us

  Caring through Sharing is the development wing of the Jesuit Research and Development Society (JRDS), a prominent social initiative having a widespread presence across India in 15 states.

Our mission is to empower underprivileged individuals, enabling them to lead dignified lives through education and vocational training. Dedicated to nurturing human potential at every life stage, Caring through Sharing has been making a meaningful impact since its inception in 2006.

Operating amid economically and socially challenging conditions, we are committed to building resilience within communities. We operate in two distinct segments within the JRDS framework. One segment is dedicated to human rights and law, capacity building, and research-related activities, while our flagship unit, focused on social development activities and emphasizing collaborative efforts for societal advancement, is known as Caring through Sharing.

Impact Stories

  Discover the Ankur Project, a beacon of hope in Hazaribag, India, transforming lives through education. Non-formal school, led by the Hazaribag Jesuits, focuses on Dalit children in rural villages, breaking down barriers to learning.

Beyond academics social and economic factors, reintegrating dropouts are addressed. This community-driven approach involves local tutors as role models, creating a meaningful learning experience.

Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, allows individuals to claim deductions on donations made to recognized charitable organizations like Caring Through Sharing the development wing of JRDS – Development Programs. This enables a reduction in taxable income equivalent to the donation amount.

Donating under Section 80G not only supports charitable causes but also offers valuable income tax benefits, enhancing tax planning strategies. This enables individuals to contribute to societal welfare while mitigating their tax liabilities effectively.

Taxpayers can claim deductions of varying percentages on donation amounts, with a minimum donation threshold of INR 500. The deduction limit depends on the charitable organization and the donor’s classification (individual or business).

Caring through Sharing issues tax-exempt certificates (10BE) for all donations made within a financial year, which are emailed to donors by 31st May of the subsequent year. Donors are encouraged to update their contact information promptly for seamless communication and receipt of tax-related documents.

All donations to Caring through Sharing are eligible for 50% tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
