As the work of JRS South Asia and JCSA networks increasingly depends on digital communication and data systems, strengthening IT skills and digital security has become essential.
A Rapid Risk Assessment (RRA) conducted during the JRS India 2026 Country Planning process identified critical gaps. Many staff members—especially those in field locations—lack formal IT training and are vulnerable to phishing attacks, data breaches, and misuse of digital tools.
To address these challenges, JRS South Asia, in collaboration with CDO, organized an IT Capacity Building and Digital Security Training for NGO staff, sponsored by JRDS and led by Fr. Anthony from the JRS Office.

Key Focus Areas of the Training
- Cyber risk awareness and prevention
- Data protection and safe information handling
- Responsible use of digital tools, including AI and Microsoft applications

Training Locations and Participation
The training was conducted across multiple locations in India:
- Dindigul (28–29 January 2026)
- Aizawl (3 February 2026)
- Delhi (5 February 2026)
A total of 72 JCSA staff members participated in the program.

Impact and Outcomes
The initiative significantly improved:
- Awareness of cyber risks among NGO staff
- Data protection practices across teams
- Safe and effective use of digital tools
- Coordination and communication within JCSA ministries
This training marks an important step in strengthening the digital capacity and security of NGO operations in India, ensuring safer and more efficient service delivery.
