Ensuring Social Protection (ESP) project meeting of Core Team Members (CTMs) took place on 13 – 14th December 2022 at Inigo Sadan, PG Block, Pune, Maharashtra organized by the National team. Fr. Stany Tirkey – Project Director, Fr. Denzil Fernandez – Executive Director of Indian Social Institute Delhi, Fr. PM Tony – Director, Bagaicha, Jharkhand, Fr. Francis Balaraj – representative of Indian Social Institute, Bangalore, Mr. Vijay Parmar – the Social Protection Consultant, 11 state representatives and the national team were present for the meeting.

The key activities implemented, current situation of the project setting in the states, Policy related matters, Financial and other compliances with challenges faced in the the 1st year were discussed and reviewed in the meeting. CTMs of the respective states presented and updated on the progress of the project and the several strategic initiatives have taken up. Each member presented for 10 minutes followed by a 5 minutes of discussion.

The good things came up at the national and state levels are such as the Aligning with SDG – Trying to localize the SDGs, Get into the climate change even it is a small way, Community Leaders to CCFFs: CCFFs at the centre of action, Execution of planned activities, Collaborative CCFF led actions led to effective facilitation of local governance, Professional relationships increased with local government departments and institutions.

Some concrete decisions such as the Zonal/state workshop should be organized for SLTs/CTs in the next year to introduce the activities of the 2nd year, National workshop on Social Protection will be organized in May/June and the Newsletter has to be published quarterly by reflecting the stories of changes happening through LM’s interventions were discussed in the meeting.
