Our partner, Jan Seva Mandal (JSM), under Bombay Jesuits is committed to transforming agriculture by encouraging organic farming practices that are both sustainable and nature-friendly. Through our training programs and field demonstrations, we equip farmers with the tools and knowledge to adopt methods that preserve essential natural resources like land, water, and forests—resources vital to the survival of Adivasi communities.
Not only do we provide training, but we also offer subsidies for compost pits, slurry containers, insect spray drums, and farming implements, helping smallholder farmers ease their transition to sustainable practices. We also collaborate with other NGOs, align our efforts with government programs, and focus on research-driven agricultural innovations to benefit the community.
While the journey toward sustainable agriculture is full of challenges—such as limited resources, labor-intensive farming, and competition from industrial wages—JSM is steadfast in its mission. By harmonizing Adivasi native skills with modern, nature-friendly technologies, we’re working patiently and collaboratively with farmers to achieve long-term success.
