On the Ground with Partners: JRDS Delhi Visit
Loyola Vocational Institute, Rohini

Delhi, June 13, 2025 — To strengthen partnerships and explore new opportunities for youth development, Team JRDS visited two key vocational training centres under the Delhi Jesuit Society—Loyola Vocational Institute (LVI), Rohini, and V-Care Social Service Centre, Jahangirpuri.

The visiting team included Fr. Joe Victor, Director – JRDS; Mr. Sabyasachi Dutta, CSR Advisor; and Ms. Tanvi Dogra, Manager – Communications. The purpose of the visit was to engage with on-ground teams, understand the impact of ongoing programs, and discuss future collaboration with alumni, donors, and CSR partners.

At LVI, the team met Fr. Rakesh, the new Director of the institute. Established in 1995, LVI provides vocational education to school dropouts and youth from marginalized communities. Located on the St. Xavier’s campus in Rohini Sector 26, LVI offers government-recognized courses affiliated with the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). Students are trained in areas such as tailoring, fashion design, computers, beauty culture, baking, and electrician skills.

The team then visited V-Care, led by Fr. Anil Kumar Minj and supported by Mr. Akash from the Lok Manch team. V-Care operates in underserved communities like Jahangirpuri, Bhalswa Dairy, J.J. Colony, and Burari. It focuses on the empowerment of children, youth, and women through education, vocational training, and skill-building programs.

The visit also included discussions on strengthening alumni engagement, staff capacity building, developing fundraising strategies, and expanding collaboration with our corporate partner Innovaccer—a Noida-based IT company that has donated desktop computers to both centres to support digital learning. Opportunities for employee volunteering were also explored

The day concluded with a shared commitment to continue building sustainable futures for youth through education, skills training, and strong community partnerships.
