AICUF's Green Pledge on World Environment Day

This World Environment Day, volunteers from the All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) marked the occasion by planting 60 saplings across four locations in Patna—Tapovan Carmel Sisters, Bin Tola, Khagaul Cemetery, and Navjyoti. The chosen saplings—Mahogany, Kadamb, and Sita Ashok—were sourced from Tarumitra for their long-term environmental benefits.
The initiative was carried out under the mentorship of Mr. Mario Martin and Mr. Ajay, Dean of Students’ Welfare. It was made possible through the generous support of the alumni and staff of St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, each of whom sponsored a tree as a pledge towards a greener future.
As the world struggles with global warming and strives to limit temperature rise to 1.5°C, our small but significant steps matter. Together, we are not just planting trees—we are sowing seeds of hope, resilience, and responsibility.
This year’s theme, Beat Plastic Pollution, reminds us that we all need to act quickly and together. Let us pledge to reduce plastic use and work towards a cleaner, healthier Earth for future generations.
