MAIN (Migrant Assistance and Information Network) celebrated the International Migrants Day on 18 December in Delhi and several other states. It was organised in commemoration of the adoption of the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families by UN General Assembly on 18 December 1990.
More than 80 migrant workers, including men, women and their children, participated in the programme held at Indian Social Institute, Delhi. Apart from sharing the support they received from MAIN during the pandemic, participants also sang songs during the programme. MAIN also released a Declaration to “Recognise, Empower and Support Distressed Migrant Workers” on the International Migrants Day 2022.
